I love my MZ Moskito, but I hate the soot that blasts out of the tailpipe every time I twist the accelerator. I'd love to rip out the gas tank and motor and replace them with some laptop batteries and an electric motor. I like the looks of this:
but the $12,000 price tag is a bit too much to swallow. The specs sound just right, though:
- zero to 30 mph: 3.8 seconds
- top speed: 50mph
- range: 45 miles
- 3-hour charge cycle
I need to hook up with an enterprising engineering student who wants to get his hands dirty with a homebrew project. Any volunteers?
